Student job in engineering and machine building

Most student jobs have you ticking boxes. Here you stand on the shop floor among people who build machines that exist nowhere else. You lend a hand, you get proper explanations, and after a few weeks you understand how such a machine fits together.

TMC Machines designs and builds fully automatic machines and robot lines, 100% in house in Ieper. Some machines contain hundreds of parts, so there is always work where an extra pair of hands makes a difference.

What will you do?

• Assembly: helping to put machines together, guided by a technician. You watch loose parts turn into something that runs.
• Machining and CNC: working in our own CNC department. Loading machines, deburring and checking parts.
• Warehouse and logistics: preparing parts for assembly, receiving deliveries, keeping track of things.

What exactly you do depends on what is on the floor that week and on what you can handle. You are never on your own: there is always someone around to ask.

Who are we looking for?

• You are studying something technical, or you simply want to learn. Both are fine.
• You are at least 16 years old.
• You show up on time and you dare to ask when you do not know something. That is largely it.

When can you work?

• During the summer holidays, when the workshop runs at full speed.
• During the other school holidays.
• Year-round by arrangement, if it fits your timetable.

We split your annual student quota of 475 hours together, so you are not limited to July and August.

What do we offer?

• €17.12 per hour. It is stated here, so you know before you apply.
• Work in Ieper, in our own workshop. You apply directly to Ramses, with no agency in between.

• A line on your CV that actually counts if you want to work in engineering later.
